dena is a centre of excellence for the applied energy transition and climate protection. We work with stakeholders from across all sectors, on both a national and international level. As a think tank, we study the challenges of building a climate-neutral society and support the German government in achieving its energy and climate policy objectives. We develop solutions for climate neutrality and put them into practice. To do this, we bring together partners from politics, business, the scientific community and all parts of society – with enthusiasm for one of the most exciting tasks of our time. Start up Energy Transition is a project by the German Energy Agency (dena) in cooperation with the World Energy Council. We’re the global platform connecting the world’s most innovative start-ups with investors, industry leaders, and policymakers who can turn big ideas into even bigger action. Since its launch, the SET Award has evaluated 4,000+ innovators from over 100 countries, showcased 900+ groundbreaking solutions on the SET100 list, and crowned 47 winners. These aren’t just fancy numbers, they represent real people, solving real problems, from cutting emissions to bringing clean energy to communities that need it most.
