Vidi Labs Limited, founded in 2021, is an AI startup specializing in computer vision to improve quality of life for visually impaired persons (VIPs) and the elderly. Its flagship product, Seekr, is a compact, AI-powered wearable that enables VIPs to navigate independently through real-time text detection, object and scene recognition, depth estimation, and multilingual support, all hands-free. Since its June 2024 launch, Seekr has sold hundreds of units and gathered over 600 pre-orders, building a user base of 30,000+ across Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, and the US. The company has won multiple awards including the Hong Kong ICT Startup Silver Award (2023), Smart Empowerment Award (2024), CES Innovation Award (2025), and Forbes 30 Under 30 for social impact. Seekr addresses the needs of over 300 million visually impaired people worldwide, especially elderly users, by overcoming the limitations of traditional aids like guide dogs and canes. It uses custom AI to help users identify grocery items, packaging, and navigate complex environments safely with OCR support for Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean, Japanese, and English. Backed by a robust backend processing over 155,000 API requests and 700,000 images in seven months, Seekr supports users in various daily settings including supermarkets and public transit. Market validation includes 100 focus groups and partnerships with organizations like the Hong Kong Blind Union, with over 75% of users confident in operating the device and app. Vidi Labs follows a hybrid model—selling hardware at about US$750 plus a US$12 monthly subscription for premium features, and offering B2B rentals with software and support. This model is more scalable and affordable compared to pricier competitors like Orcam. Financial projections expect US$14 million revenue in two years, targeting 29,000 beneficiaries and US$203,000 monthly recurring revenue by 2026. A US$3 million fundraising round aims to support scaling, R&D, and operations. Looking ahead, Vidi Labs plans to expand Seekr’s reach into broader consumer and enterprise wearable markets, aligned with the booming US$60 billion wearable tech industry. Led by co-founders Turzo Bose (CEO), Lamia Sreya Rahman (COO), and Reshika PV (CTO), Vidi Labs continues innovating inclusive AI solutions that empower millions of visually impaired users worldwide through enhanced independence and safety.
